All documents that are a part of the official court file for cases within the jurisdiction of the Court of Common Pleas, Criminal Division, are received and filed at the Docket Counter located in the Allegheny County Courthouse, Room 114, 436 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
In addition to cases on the Criminal Docket, this office also maintains custody of a Road Docket and a Miscellaneous Docket.
Miscellaneous Docket cases include several classes of cases of interest to the general public including: the appointment, certification, bonding and insuring of Constables and Deputy Constables; issuance of private detective licenses; motions for return or forfeiture of property; and appeals from denial of firearms licenses.
Fees charged for filing or issuance of official court documents vary and are set by court order and statute (see Cost & Fee Schedule). The procedures for initiating cases or filing documents vary significantly depending upon the nature of the case. For more information, please call (412) 350-5321.
