Learn about PA 2-1-1 SW

What is 2-1-1?

2-1-1 is a nationally recognized phone number that connects callers to human services and community resources specific to their needs. Currently 2-1-1 is available to over 82% of the nation’s population, including 48 states.

2-1-1 is currently being launched regionally throughout Pennsylvania. The southwestern Pa. region consists of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.

The United Ways of Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Butler Counties are spearheading implementation planning and are working in partnership with the other SW region’s human services organizations for full implementation of 2-1-1 by 2013. 2-1-1 services were launched in Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette and Westmoreland Counties in July 2011.

Planning is underway to extend the service to the rest of the southwestern Pa. region, including Beaver, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer and Washington Counties by the 2013 full-coverage goal.
