Early Intervention Program
Children three years of age and under who are at risk for developmental delays can be readily assessed in the Early Intervention Program.
Office of Intellectual Disability
Persons with intellectual disability/mental retardation, their families or others who support them, can begin the process of registering for the coordination of their services by contacting the DHS Office of Intellectual Disability.
Individual and Community Health
Information about services related to autism, mental illness, and/or addiction to drugs or alcohol.
Allegheny Link to Aging and Disability Resources
Persons with disabilities and their families can turn to the Allegheny Link to Aging and Disability Resources, for technical assistance in accessing appropriate resources to meet their specific needs. Allegheny County does not pay for these supports and services.

Pa. DPW Support Services Waivers
There is some funding available through the Medicaid Home- and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver Program to help eligible persons with disabilities live independently in their homes and communities. The HCBS waivers, also known as support services waivers are administered by the Pa. Department of Public Welfare. Eligibility for HCBS waivers depends upon an individual's income and resources, need for care, and availability of services.
