Our LEPC Mission
The LEPC is responsible for emergency planning activities, working with Allegheny County Emergency Management, related to hazardous chemicals within the County of Allegheny. Such activities include notifying the public of availability of related information. In addition, the LEPC functions as the Citizens Corps Council (CCC).
Our CCC Mission
The Citizen Corps Councils mission is to make the municipalities, and therefore the county, safer and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds. This can be accomplished, working with Allegheny County Emergency Management, by facilitating the harnessing of the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service.

Citizen Corps Programs
Notice to All Interested Parties
In accordance with the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act, the County of Allegheny hereby gives official notice of meetings and the public availability of information for the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) established under the Superfund Amendment Reauthorization Act (SARA) Title III Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know, and PA Act 1990-165, the hazardous Material Emergency Planning and Response Act.
The LEPC is responsible for emergency planning activities, working with Allegheny County Emergency Management, related to hazardous chemicals within the County of Allegheny. Such activities include notifying the public of availability of related information.
Members of the interested public are invited to attend any or all meetings, which convene at 10:00 a.m., and are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month with the exceptions of July and August, during which no meeting will be held, and for the month of December, during which the meeting will be held on the second Wednesday.
All meetings are held at the Allegheny County Emergency Management Office at 400 North Lexington Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15208, where members of the interested public may also review plans, data sheets, forms and follow-up notices, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Those persons needing special communications services should notify Emergency Management at 48 hours prior to the date and time of the scheduled meeting date as announced above. Notice may be made by contacting Allegheny County Emergency Management at (412) 473-2550.
