The Allegheny County Department of Public Works, Parks Division invites county residents to put on their dancing shoes and swing to the sounds of Big Band music Wednesday evenings at North and South parks.

Big Band Bashes 2002 concert series kicks off on Wednesday, July 10, with Marty Shor and the Swingin’ Seniors at North Park.

On July 24, Dale Hetrick and the “Burgh Big Band” will perform at South Park; and Tom Evans and the Tom Evans Big Band will take to the stage on Aug. 7 at North Park. The series concludes with a performance by Rick Purcell and the Rick Purcell Orchestra on Aug. 21 at South Park.

The North Park concerts will be at the skating rink on Pearce Mill Road. The concerts at South Park will be at the skating rink on Corrigan Road.

Concerts start at 7:30 p.m. and conclude at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. All Allegheny County concerts are alcohol-free.
