Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF) and Juvenile Court will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the Gold Room, Fourth Floor, County Courthouse, 436 Grant Street, in downtown Pittsburgh. The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain comments on the DRAFT 2003-2004 Needs-Based Plan and Budget.

The Plan and Budget presents to the Department of Public Welfare the proposed plan and funding requests of CYF and Juvenile Court to fulfill their legal responsibilities to provide public child welfare services to dependent and delinquent children.

Copies of the Plan and Budget will be available beginning Monday, July 15, 2002 at the following locations: all Allegheny County CYF locations, Allegheny County Juvenile Court (550 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh., PA 15219), and the following public libraries:

• The Library Center, 414 Wood Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222

• South Side Branch, 2205 East Carson Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203

• Free Library of McKeesport, 1507 Library Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132

• Oakland Branch, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213

• Allegheny Regional Branch, 5 Allegheny Square, Pittsburgh, PA 15212

Persons wishing to provide comments on the Plan and Budget are asked to call the Office of Community Relations at 412-350-6661 (TDD 578-6757) by July, 19, 2002, to be placed on the agenda. Testimony presented at the hearing, or other comments regarding the Plan and Budget, should be submitted in writing at the hearing site or delivered to the Department of Human Services, Office of Community Relations, One Smithfield St., Pgh., PA 15222 no later than August 1, 2002.
