Kane Glen Hazel residents had an opportunity to wave Terrible Towels and cheer on their favorite Pittsburgh Steelers players during a visit to the defending Super Bowl Champions’ training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.
Five Kane Glen Hazel residents and their escorts watched as coach Mike Tomlin ran the Steelers through drills early in August before the team broke camp.
“We had wonderful seats under an old oak tree and a great view of the practice fields,” said Kathi Lindsley, Kane Glen Hazel Therapeutic Recreation Manager. “There even was a gentle breeze to keep us cool.”
The Kane Glen Hazel group had an exclusive autograph session with some of the Steelers at a designated area outside of the locker room. As a special treat the residents and Kane staff received an upclose view of the Steelers’ sixth Super Bowl Championship ring.
“The residents were thrilled,” Lindsley said. “The players were friendly and generous with their time.”
