PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Public Works today announced traffic restrictions and lane closures beginning on Sat., Jan. 9, related to the Rankin Bridge construction project. After 6:00 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 9, the traffic signal located on the main span of the Rankin Bridge near Whitaker will be taken out of service to replace equipment. All traffic approaching the intersection from the bridge or PA-837 will be controlled by Whitaker police. Work will be completed by 10:00 p.m. the same day.

After 9:00 a.m. on Mon., Jan. 11, the PA-837 Northbound/Rankin Bridge underpass on the Whitaker side will be closed for reconstruction. All traffic heading toward Homestead on PA-837 North will be rerouted through the signalized intersection. This closure is expected to last through November 2010.
