PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Public Works today announced that the Jacks Run Bridge, which connects California Avenue in Pittsburgh to Lincoln Avenue in Bellevue, will close to vehicular traffic beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Mon., March 1, for reconstruction. The bridge will remain closed until Dec. 1. The posted detour for vehicles will be via Brighton Road and Benton Avenue.
Pedestrian access across the bridge will remain open at all times on one side of the bridge during construction.
The project will replace the existing deck and sidewalks, and substructure repairs will also be performed. The contractor is Michael A. Beech Corporation.
The $8.9 million reconstruction project is being funded by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act.
