The Allegheny County Board of Health will meet on Wednesday, March 10, at 12:30 p.m., at Clack Health Center, Building 7, 301 Thirty-Ninth Street, Lawrenceville.
The agenda for the meeting will include the following items:
- Report by Prevention Point Pittsburgh, a needle exchange program designed to reduce the transmission of HIV and hepatitis C caused by needle sharing.
- Requests for $2,500 each from the Clean Air Fund and the Environmental Health Fund to support the Pittsburgh International Science and Technology Festival (SciTech Festival) to be held March 26, 2010.
- Proposed air pollution regulations establishing new ozone control technique guidelines for specific sources of volatile organic compounds.
- Proposed revisions to a Health Department plan to bring air quality in the Liberty/Clairton area into compliance with national air quality standards for fine particulate pollution.
- New schedule of fees for vaccinations and other services provided by the Health Department’s Infectious Disease Program.
- Report on recommendations of special committee appointed by County Executive to examine the Health Department’s Air Quality Program.
- Report by committee dealing with air toxics guidelines.
- Appointment to board of directors of Three Rivers Wet Weather Demonstration Project.
- Public comments on agenda and non-agenda items.
