Two New Restaurants Use Healthier Trans-Fat Free Cooking Oils

The Allegheny County Health Department today reported that 11 new food establishments opened in the County last month, including five restaurants, a retailer, two coffee shops, a caterer, one convenience store, and a bakery.
“Our monthly reports identify which new restaurants use trans-fat free cooking oils, and that two of the five new eateries opening last month cook with these healthier oils,” said County Health Director Dr. Bruce W. Dixon.
The two restaurants are Andrea’s, 17 Foster Avenue, Crafton and Hersh’s Pub & Grill, 825 Monongahela Avenue, Glassport.
Three other restaurants opened last month: Cenci’s Italian Restaurant, 11530 Perry Highway, Pine; DD’s Saloon, 4121 Butler Street, Lawrenceville; and PI, 1707 East Carson Street, Southside.
Six additional food establishments opened in February: CK Dollar Store, 144 Chartiers Avenue, Crafton; 5 Generation Bakers, 620 Island Avenue, McKees Rocks; E2, 5904 Bryant Street, East Liberty; Cannon Coffee, 802 Brookline Boulevard, Brookline; Kuku’s, 310 Jefferson Court, Monroeville; and Boulevard Deli, 309 Smithfield Street, Downtown.
