PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Public Works has established a detour route around the closed portion of Monroeville Trestle Road/Center Road in Plum.
Traffic heading north will turn right onto Old Frankstown Road then left onto Pierson Run Road and then left onto Saltsburg Road (Route 380). Traffic heading south will follow the detour in reverse. Detour signs will be in place by rush hour.
County Public Works and the federal Office of Surface Mining have confirmed that mine subsidence is the cause of the sinkhole. The two organizations are working on a plan to repair the road as soon as possible.
Monroeville Trestle Road/Center Road will remain closed until it can be repaired.
