Residents of the John Kane Regional Center in Ross Township recently experienced “life in the fast lane” as part of two automobile-related events.
Three Kane Ross residents attended the races at Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway in Sarver on August 6. Bill Perry, David Scott and Frank Bizjak were spectators for the night, with each man selecting his favorite car to win each race. Bizjak is an avid NASCAR fan who truly appreciated the event.
“Even though the roar of the cars was sometimes nearly defeaning, all of those in the crowd had a fun-filled and memorable evening,” said Jan Hoag, Administrative Secretary at Kane Ross. “The races are a special event that our racing-fan residents really look forward to each summer.”
Four residents visited the Starlight Car Cruise in Wexford on July 30. Peter DeWitt, Frank Bizjak, Joe Kudrav and David Scott were able to view more than 1,000 vintage vehicles on display at the Starlight Car Cruise.
“The residents really appreciated the beauty and detail that goes into maintaining and showcasing these marvelous cars,” Hoag said. “From a pristine Duesenberg to extravagantly painted muscle cars, the residents saw an impressive display of cars. Peter DeWitt stated that it brought back memories of all the cars he’s seen and how they have changed in his lifetime.”
