PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Public Works today announced that trucks will begin hauling sediment from North Park Lake to a new disposal site off of Wildwood Road near Wildwood Highlands on Monday, August 23, and continuing through the duration of the project. Hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Motorists, pedestrians and bikers should be alert for increased truck traffic on parts of Lake Shore Drive, Ingomar Road, Pearce Mill Road and Babcock Boulevard as full trucks make their way from the lake bed to Wildwood Road and then right onto Wildwood Sample Road.

Empty trucks will exit the disposal site onto South Ridge Road, travel behind the swimming pool, and continue onto Babcock Boulevard to return to the lake bed. Public Works will position a flagger for at least the next two weeks at the exit onto South Ridge Road to ensure pedestrians and bikers are aware of the new truck traffic pattern. County Police will also increase patrols along the new hauling routes.
