Public Works Announces Closure of Coal Valley Road

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Public Works today announced that Coal Valley Road, between Route 885 and Route 837, is closed to through traffic for a roadway stabilization project and the relocation of utility poles by Duquesne Light.

The road is open to local traffic only from Route 885 approximately one half mile to the Clairton Sportsman Club, and from Route 837 approximately one mile to the project work site.

Through traffic will follow a posted detour during the closure. Motorists traveling from Route 885 south can turn left on Miller Road and left on Route 837 north. Motorists traveling from Route 837 north can turn left on Miller Road and right on Route 885 north. 

The closure will remain in place through the end of December.
