The staff and residents at the John J. Kane Regional Center in Glen Hazel officially thanked volunteers representing BNY Mellon for making the center’s American Bandstand event a success.
Kane Glen Hazel Volunteer Coordinator Gwen Baugh-Conlin and Director of Nursing Candy Mulholland each recognized the efforts of seven BNY Mellon employees who participated in the BNY Mellon Community Partnership volunteer program by offering a helping hand at Kane Glen Hazel. The ceremony was held on December 30.
“The American Bandstand event was fun, exciting and well-received by our staff and residents,” Baugh-Conlin said of the October 7 event. “The volunteers from BNY Mellon really made the event special. They each contributed so much to make the Bandstand event one to remember for our residents.”
The BNY Mellon employees helped decorate for the American Bandstand themed event that raised money for charity. They escorted residents to the dance and even served refreshments. Additionally, a $490 donation was made by the BNY Mellon “team” to match the funds raised by Kane during the event. BYN Mellon’s Gina Jenkins presented the check to Kane.
The BNY Mellon Community Partnership Program features two days of paid volunteer time per employee each year, and a company match for individual giving, team fundraising and team volunteer time. Through 2010 BNY Mellon and its employees contributed $14 million to charities around the world through the Community Partnership Program.
