PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl will host a “Ruin the Ravens Rally” in honor of the Steelers playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. The event will start at 12:00 noon on Friday, Jan. 14, around the Terrible Tree in the courtyard of the Allegheny County Courthouse at 436 Grant Street in Downtown Pittsburgh.

“Friday marks the start of a big Black & Gold weekend here in Allegheny County,” said Onorato. “The rally will give us an opportunity to thank the Steelers for a great regular season and build momentum for a victory against Baltimore on Saturday.”

“The road to the Super Bowl starts here in Pittsburgh,” said Ravenstahl. “This Friday, let’s show Baltimore what Steelers fans are all about by turning the courtyard black and gold.”

A live musical guest will be on hand to entertain the crowd, and a limited number of Eat ‘N Park Smiley cookies and Shearer’s pretzels will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Four-time Super Bowl Champion Randy Grossman and Steelers mascot Steely McBeam will also help to rally the crowd. The Mayor and County Executive have also declared Friday “Black & Gold Day” and are encouraging everyone to show their support for the Steelers by donning black and gold.

Onorato and Ravenstahl are also asking those attending the rally to bring a canned good, non-perishable food item, or cash donation, which will be donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Fans are encouraged to contribute black and gold decorations and Steelers paraphernalia to adorn the 20-foot tree. Donations are being accepted daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the guard station in the courtyard of the County Courthouse, as well as the Boyce, Hartwood, North, Round Hill, South and White Oak park offices.
