More than 80 residents, their family members and staff at the John J. Kane Regional Center in McKeesport participated in a multi-floor Mardi Gras parade at the center on March 8.

The spirited march proceeded from the 4th floor to the 1st floor as residents wore beads, hats, masks and other attire that fit into the Mardi Gras theme. A Mardi Gras cake was served to residents and their guests.

“Everyone involved in our parade really enjoyed themselves,” said Ken Schmigel, Recreation Therapy Supervisor at Kane McKeesport. “There was a festive mood throughout the center. The residents, their family members and our staff truly were in the Mardi Gras spirit.”
