The John J. Kane Regional Center in Ross Township didn’t wait for the official arrival of spring to get into the spring spirit.
Kane Ross residents and staff enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day performance by Cathasaigh, a young singer who performed a number of Irish ballads. Cathasaigh previously had performed at Kane during Christmas and winter concerts at the regional center.
“Nothing says spring like our St. Patrick’s Day party,” said Dana Nicodemus, Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor at Kane Ross. “Cathasaigh is a talented performer who always is well-received by our residents. Her rendition of the Irish ballads really put everyone into the spring mind-set.”
The St. Teresa’s Players also performed their annual Irish Show at Kane Ross. The group entertains Kane Ross twice a year.
“The residents were entertained by all the ladies and gentlemen in the group,” Nicodemus said. “They visit our center a couple times a year, so the residents and staff know them well.”
Earlier in the month, musical artist Trina Janura performed at Kane Ross to kick off the Mardi Gras celebration.
“We started off the month with our favorite performer,” said Nicodemus, referring to Janura. “Everyone had a great time during the Mardi Gras event.”
