Ed Kress Appointed to Allegheny County Council

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Council Republican Caucus has announced the appointment of Ed Kress to replace the unexpired term of former County Councilman Chuck McCullough R-at-Large. Mr. Kress is a former Councilmember serving on Allegheny County Council in 2005. In addition to being a former Councilmember, Mr. Kress is also a current member of the Allegheny County Ethics Commission, current & past Republican State Committeeman, Corbett for Governor Captain, Board Member for Fire Arm Owners Against Crime and a Board Member for the Irish Partnership. Mr. Kress has run county-wide for the position of Allegheny County Sheriff in 2007, volunteers to numerous Veteran outreach programs; including Sheppard Heart Veterans Home of which he has served as a Chair to fundraising events.

The Republican Caucus wishes to thank all the interest from multiple candidates that represented a very impressive and civic-minded group. The Republican Caucus stated, “Ed Kress has the needed blend of past experience and current knowledge of local government issues. His activism for County and local issues has been apparent for many years and we believe he has represented County positions & republican ideals very well.”

Mr. Kress is a life-long Allegheny County resident from Shaler and a Pittsburgh based attorney. He will be sworn into office at the next County Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 5th.
