Area Agency on Aging to Host Public Hearing on Future Plan Budget

PITTSBURGH - The Advisory Council of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging (AAA) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at the County Courthouse, fourth floor Gold Room. The purpose of the public hearing is to solicit public comment on the 2012-2013 Area Plan and Budget Prospectus and on the AAA Four Year Plan for Fiscal Years 2012-2016.

 Persons wishing to give testimony may pre-register by calling 412.350.4083 for an assigned 5-minute time slot. Speakers may also register the day of the hearing and provide testimony as time permits.

 The hearing is also an opportunity for older adults, caregivers and other interested individuals to ask questions and offer comments on aging services in general.  All oral and written comments will be recorded in the official proceedings of the hearing and sent to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging in Harrisburg.

 The week of the public hearing, the plan will be posted on the Department of Human Services Website to be read and/or downloaded. To request a hard copy of the plan, call 412-350-4083.

 Written testimony will be accepted at or after the hearing. All testimony must be received  no later than Friday, June 15 either by e-mail to the above contact, or mailed to the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging, 441 Smithfield Street, second floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
