One of Seven New Restaurants Uses Healthier Cooking Oils
The Allegheny County Health Department today reported that thirteen new food establishments opened in the County last month, including seven restaurants, a coffee shop, one bakery, a grocery store, one convenience store, and two confectionaries.
The Health Department’s monthly reports identify which new restaurants use trans-fat free cooking oils, and one out of the seven eateries opening last month cooks with these healthier oils.
The restaurant using trans-fat free cooking oils is Pizza Hut, 4960 Library Road, Bethel Park.
Six other restaurants opened in May – Asian Café, 701 Cooke Drive, Castle Shannon; Southern Hospitality, 200 Monroeville Mall, A22, Monroeville; NAKA End Zone, 3220 Brighton Road, North Side; Curry On Murray, 2121 Murray Avenue, Squirrel Hill; Silvi’s SouthSide Kitchen, 2212 East Carson Street, Southside; and Chipotle Mexican Grill, 1614 Cochran Road, Scott.
Six additional food establishments opened last month: Crazy Mocha, 2775 Mosside Boulevard, Monroeville; Jorgasnacc’s Convenience Store, 1933 Crafton Boulevard, Crafton; MR Butcher, 7777 McKnight Road, Ross; Twisted Frozen Yogurt & Ice Cream, 1796 North Highland Road, Upper St. Clair; Love Yogurt, 2124 East Carson Street, Southside; and Om Nom Bake Studio, 5134 Clairton Boulevard, Baldwin Borough.
