Talbot Avenue ramp in Rankin

PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that demolition of the poor-rated Talbot Avenue ramp, located between Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue and Fleet Street in Rankin, will start on Monday, October 27, 2025. The demolition work is expected to end during winter 2026.

The ramp was closed on April 7, 2025 as part of a Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp replacement project. When construction ended on a new Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp, Public Works decided to keep the Talbot Avenue ramp closed and demolish it to save on maintenance costs until the ramp is replaced. Construction on a new Talbot Avenue ramp is expected to start during spring 2028.

Until the Talbot Avenue ramp is replaced, traffic will continue to be detoured using Braddock Avenue and Fourth Street.

Mosites Construction Company of Robinson is the primary construction contractor for the demolition.
