Acting Deputy Warden of Operations

Eric Hintemeyer was named Acting Deputy Warden of Operations in January 2026. He previously served as a Major at the Allegheny County Jail (ACJ) beginning in December 2023.

Deputy Hintemeyer came to the ACJ after a 25-year career with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. He began as a Corrections Officer
at SCI Pittsburgh in 1998. He was an Officer at SCI Mercer and SCI Fayette before returning to SCI Pittsburgh in 2007. He was promoted to Sergeant and then Lieutenant before transferring to SCI Greene as a Captain in 2015. He retired from Greene in November 2023 as Security Captain. 

 

He served in the US Army and Pennsylvania National Guard from 1992 to 2013, and is a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
