Emergency Services

Allegheny County Emergency Services (ACES) supports the people and first responders of Allegheny County through prevention, preparation, protection, response, and recovery from man-made and natural emergencies, as well as acts of terrorism.

Department Goals

Mitigate the potential effects of various hazards and vulnerabilities on the county
Implement measures that preserve life and minimize damage
Respond to the needs of residents and local jurisdictions during emergencies
Provide plans to return the county to normal as soon as possible after natural or manmade disasters, technological accidents, national security threats, or other disruptive incidents

Emergency Responders

Throughout the county and region, these Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agencies, fire departments and police departments are prepared to assist you both before and during an emergency.

Emergency Management

The Emergency Management Division prepares for emergencies through planning, provides help during response and recovery, and prevents or mitigates the effects of disasters.
