Public Works oversees the design and construction of numerous road and bridge projects annually and permits utility work on county-owned roads. Working with contractors and consultants, the department is constantly making vital repairs and improvements to our public assets.

  • Evergreen Road – Southbound lane closure between Tally Drive and Evergreen Community Park
  • Mt. Troy Road Extension – Westbound lane closure on the 4500 block

Sewickley

  • Waterworks Road – Westbound lane closure on the 200 block

Road and Bridge Work

Crescent

  • Spring Run Road – Periodic lane closures between McGovern Boulevard (Route 51) and Broadhead Road for milling and paving, concrete road rehabilitation, drainage improvements, curb installation, and guide rail replacement

East McKeesport

  • Ice Plant Hill Road/Morrelle Avenue/Santos Street – Periodic lane closures between Greensburg Avenue (Route 30) and Westinghouse Avenue/John Street for milling and paving

Monroeville

  • Beatty Road – Periodic lane closures between Old William Penn Highway and the CCAC Boyce campus (595 Beatty Road) for milling and paving
  • Stroschein Road –  Periodic lane closures between Monroeville Boulevard and Pitcairn Road for milling and paving

North Versailles

  • Ice Plant Hill Road/Morrelle Avenue/Santos Street – Periodic lane closures between Greensburg Avenue (Route 30) and Westinghouse Avenue/John Street for milling and paving
  • Wall Avenue – Periodic lane closures between Mosside Boulevard (Route 48) and Station Street for road repairs, drainage improvements, and ADA ramps installation

Pittsburgh

  • Andy Warhol (Seventh Street) Bridge – Full closure from 6 am on Monday, July 21 to 3 pm on Friday, July 25 and from 6 am on Monday, July 28 to 3 pm on Friday, August 1 for a routine inspection

Rankin

  • Talbot Avenue ramp – Full closure between Kenmawr Avenue/Braddock Avenue and Fleet Street due to deterioration

Ross

  • Cemetery Lane – Periodic lane closures between 116 and 300 Cemetery Lane for guide rail installation and replacement
  • Jacks Run Road – Full closure between Bellevue Road/Bellpark Drive and Kane Lane due to deterioration on Jacks Run Bridge No. 3

Wilmerding

  • Ice Plant Hill Road/Morrelle Avenue/Santos Street – Periodic lane closures between Greensburg Avenue (Route 30) and Westinghouse Avenue/John Street for milling and paving

  • East Smithfield Street – Lane closures between Schweitzer Road and Antonelli Road (Peoples Natural Gas)

  • Coal Valley Road – Full closure between Route 837 and Clairton Road (Route 885) for stormwater work (Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission)

Neville

  • Grand Avenue – Lane closures between Von Stein Lane and Maple Lane for gas line work (Columbia Gas)

O'Hara

  • Old Freeport Road– Lane closures between 1311 Old Freeport Road and 1388 Old Freeport Road for gas line work (Peoples Natural Gas)
