Dog Parks

Throughout the Allegheny County Parks, there are seven fenced-in areas where dogs can run off leash, explore, and make new furry friends in a safe and controlled environment. Each off-leash area is designed with enjoyment and safety in mind, providing ample space for exercise, play, and socialization.
Most of the county dog parks have separate areas designated for small and large dogs, so pets of similar sizes and dispositions can play together. Owners are expected to use discretion and be respectful of other visitors and pets, and adhere to all off-leash dog park regulations(PDF, 127KB) to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
The off-leash areas are open year-round, and depend on weather, conditions, and that park's operating hours. Allegheny County also hosts special events throughout the year specifically for dog owners and their pets, such as Dog Days of Summer activities and the annual Pooches in the Pool end-of-summer celebration. Contact the Parks Department with questions or for more information.
