County Set to Launch Discounted Fare Program for SNAP Recipients

County Executive Rich Fitzgerald today announced that Allegheny County and Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) have reached an agreement to implement a discounted fare program for all county Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) beneficiaries, set to commence early next year.

Public Works is expecting the first potentially impactful snowfall of the 2023-24 winter season today. Scattered snow showers are anticipated this afternoon through Tuesday morning with a possible total accumulation of a coating to 2 inches.

Allegheny County, City of Pittsburgh Announce Code Blue for Mon & Tues

A Code Blue Action has been declared by the county Department of Human Services (DHS), together with the City of Pittsburgh, and is in effect throughout the county beginning Monday, December 18, 2023, at 7:00 PM. The Code Blue event will currently also include Tuesday night, December 19.
