REMINDER: Mt. Troy Road Extension in Ross to Close Starting on Monday

The Department of Public Works announced that the 4500 block of Mt. Troy Road Extension in Ross will close starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026. The closure, which is expected to end in June, is required for construction of a retaining wall and embankment, roadway repairs, and the installation of guide rail and pavement markings.

DHS Director Erin Dalton Named NYC Social Services Commissioner

After 18 years of service at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Director Erin Dalton is moving on to serve as Commissioner of the Department of Social Services for New York City. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced today that Erin Dalton will join his administration and run the largest social services department in the country.

COURTESY RELEASE: Roberto Clemente Bridge to Close Thursday-Friday

The Department of Public Works announced today that it has granted a permit to the Pittsburgh Pirates to close the Roberto Clemente (Sixth Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge Happy Hour. The closure will occur from noon on Thursday, February 26 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 27.
