PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that the Black and Gold Playground parking lot near the intersection of Corrigan Drive and Sesqui Drive and the Hundred Acres Manor parking lot adjacent to Hundred Acres Drive in South Park have reopened.

The Black and Gold Playground parking lot closed on April 24, 2023, reopened in December, and then closed again on April 22, 2024. Those closures were required for milling and paving, storm sewer improvements, and installation of three rain gardens.

The Hundred Acres Manor parking lot has been closed since November 27, 2023. That closure was required for milling and paving and storm sewer improvements.

The project was done by Morgan Excavating, LP of Speers Borough, PA, as part of a $1.8 million contract that also included storm sewer improvements off of Sunny Slopes Road in South Park.
