1st Home Allegheny Program

In May 2025, Allegheny County, with support from the Residential Finance Authority, launched a pilot homeownership program with $2.6 million in funding. We're proud to share that all funds have been awarded, helping over 50 families purchase homes across Allegheny County.

What's Next?
Building on the success of the first year of 1st Home Allegheny, the Allegheny County Residential Finance Authority approved $3 million in new funding on March 26, 2026, to continue and expand the program. Phase II is expected to help up to 65 additional families achieve the dream of homeownership across Allegheny County.
Working closely with private lenders, homeownership counselors, ACTION-Housing, Inc., and the Allegheny County Residential Finance Authority, eligible first-time buyers can receive loans of $10,000 or $45,000 to cover closing costs and down payment assistance.
Applications open April 10, 2026.
