Join Allegheny County this Saturday, June 27th, for a free, all ages, and a once-in-a-century birthday party. An afternoon of music, food, games, and art to celebrate the Andy Warhol Bridge's 100^th Birthday. The bridge will be closed to traffic and transformed into a giant birthday party from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Community Art Activities

Screen Printing

Bring a tote bag, T-shirt, or other item to get screen printed with a special Andy Warhol bridge design by local artist Mary Temonte. A limited number of free bandanas and note cards will be available, so bringing your own item is encouraged!

Art Avenue

Bring a sketch pad or easel to create in a dedicated space on the bridge for artists to use throughout the day, and a local artist will be on hand to offer tips.

Costume Contest

Come in costume for the chance to win prizes. Dress as Andy Warhol, a bridge, Pop art-inspired creations, or anything that captures the spirit of this one-of-a-kind celebration.

Creative Games

Build marshmallow bridges, stack Campbell's Soup cans, and create community art during an open community stage event with a chance to win prizes.

History of the Andy Warhol Bridge

On June 17, 1926, a crowd of 2,000 people attended the opening of the Seventh Street Bridge in Pittsburgh, the first of the iconic trio of “Sister Bridges” to open. In 2005, the Seventh Street Bridge was officially renamed for Andy Warhol as part of a celebration of 10 years of the Andy Warhol Museum. The Andy Warhol Bridge is architecturally unique, and is believed to be the only bridge in the entire country named for a visual artist.
