28th Annual Free Throw Contest

Each year the Kane Foundation hosts an annual Free Throw Contest in the Courtyard at the Allegheny County Courthouse. This event is popular because it puts the "fun" in "fundraising" as teams and individuals test their free throw skills. 

How to Play

Along with the friendly competition between county departments, there will be teams from Kane and the Kane Foundation Board. Each county department may have a 5-member team. 

Each team member can take as many practice shots as they like before indicating to contest officials that they are ready to shoot. Once they begin, each player will shoot from the free throw line until three baskets are missed. The number of baskets made during that time is their total, with the totals of all team members combined for a final team score. 

The department that makes the most baskets and the department that raises the most money get bragging rights for a full year and get to display the unique Kane Free Throw Contest trophies for Top Hoopsters and Top Fundraisers. 

Deadline

Departments must sign up no later than Friday, May 30. The team schedules will be sent out Monday, June 2.

Donations are due the day of the event.
