The newest participant in the ACJ’s TAILS program trotted through the Visitor Entrance at 9:30 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
Lola, an 8-year-old mixed breed female, calmly passed through the metal detector and into the lobby without making a sound. TAILS Program Coordinator Kelsey Gordon and other jail staff greeted Lola and her Animal Friends representative inside the lobby before heading up to the women’s program pod.
Lola, who was surrendered to the shelter by an elderly gentleman who was no longer able to care for her, has a calm, friendly demeanor and loves to be petted.
The jail’s partnership with Animal Friends celebrated its one-year anniversary last month. If you’re interested in adopting Lola or any of the homeless pets at Animal Friends, you can visit the adoption page.
