ACJ Welcomes Zeus, Princess Leia to TAILS Program
Published on November 10, 2025
The Allegheny County Jail welcomed the two newest members of the TAILS program to the facility last week as Zeus and Princess Leia arrived from Animal Friends.
Female pod coordinator Kelsey Gordon said there aren’t a lot of details on either dog’s background, but both are full of energy and excitement.
Zeus is a 75-pound, mixed-breed male that is approximately two years old. He was transferred from another county, limiting information about his past.
“He is a big boy, and he has a personality to match his size,” Gordon said. “He is very goofy and wants to eat all the food he can get.”
Princess Leia came in to Animal Friends as a stray. She is a 50-pound, mixed-breed female. She is approximately three-and-a-half years old and “the friendliest girl,” Gordon said.
“She wants all the love she can get and will make sure your attention is on her,” Gordon added.
The TAILS program began as a pilot program in June between the ACJ and Animal Friends. If you’re interested in adopting dogs in the TAILS program, visit the Animal Friends adoption page at Adopt a Dog.
