Deputy Director - Juvenile Division
Brianna I. Sulenski, Esq.
Brianna Sulenski currently serves as Deputy Director of the Juvenile Division, a position she has held since February 2024. She has been with the Office of the Public Defender since June 2019, representing clients in the Pre-Trial and Trial Divisions before transferring to the Juvenile Division in 2021. The Juvenile Division advocates for youth throughout Allegheny County charged in juvenile delinquency matters and those charged criminally as adults (Act 33). The Division also includes an education advocacy team and social worker.
Brianna graduated with honors from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminal Justice. In 2018, she graduated from Duquesne University School of Law. While in law school, she participated in Duquesne’s Youth Advocacy Clinic and interned for the Juvenile Department at the Office of the Ohio Public Defender in Columbus, Ohio. She was also an intern for the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender’s Juvenile Division before taking the Pennsylvania Bar Exam.
Brianna is a current Board Member of the Juvenile Defenders Association of Pennsylvania (JDAP) with other juvenile advocates across the state of Pennsylvania. She is also a 2021 recipient of the Fred Goodman (RICO) Award, presented by the Public Defender Association of Pennsylvania (PDAP). This award is presented to Public Defenders with less than 3 years of experience, for outstanding work as a Public Defender in service to their clients.
Outside of work, Brianna enjoys running and has participated in the Pittsburgh Half or Full Marathons for the last 10 years.
