Liz LaForgia, Esq.

Liz LaForgia, currently serves as Deputy Director, Major Felony Unit & Investigation. Previously, she was the Chief Investigator.

Liz graduated with honors from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology. In 2015, she graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she served as a managing editor of JURIST.org. Before joining the office, Liz interned with the EEOC in Washington, D.C., and the ACLU of Pennsylvania.

Liz has been an attorney with the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office since 2017, and has worked in the pre-trial, trial, and juvenile divisions. Liz worked closely with the office’s investigators to lead innovative investigations on some of the county’s most complex cases.
