Stacey Steiner, Esq.
Stacey Steiner, Esq., currently serves as Director of Policy and Training. Previously, she was the Deputy Director of the Trial Division, a position she held since January 2013. She is an invaluable a resource and mentor the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender’s newest attorneys.
Since 2001, Stacey has worked as an attorney in the Office of the Public Defender. Previously, she practiced criminal defense as well as family and personal injury law as a private practitioner. She also was an adjunct faculty member at Point Park University, teaching Criminal Justice courses. She currently is the supervising attorney for a Specialized Externship for students from Duquesne University School of Law and graduate students from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. Additionally, she is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, where she is a council member in the Criminal Litigation Section.
Outside of work, Stacey serves as the President of the Association of Ladies of Charity for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The group of nearly 1500 women helps the sick, poor, and marginalized throughout the region, and last year, it logged more than 95,000 hours of community service.
Stacey earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Business Law certificate at Duquesne University. In 1998, she earned a Juris Doctorate at Duquesne University School of Law. While there, she competed in the Appellate and Trial Moot Court programs and was inducted into the Order of Barristers. She also was Chairwoman of the Women’s Law Association.
