Southbound Lane on Part of Evergreen Road in Ross is Closed
Published on April 04, 2024
PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that the southbound lane on part of Evergreen Road between Tally Drive and Evergreen Community Park in Ross is closed due to a landslide that has undermined part of the road. The northbound lane remains open to traffic, and Public Works engineers have determined it is safe for drivers.
Two-way traffic will be maintained at the lane closure using stop signs. Drivers can expect to experience short stoppages at the closure.
The southbound lane on that section of road likely will need to remain closed until a retaining wall can be built to support the roadway. There is not yet a timetable for when that work will occur. When those plans are finalized, that information will be provided to the public via press releases, Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Nextdoor, and Allegheny Alerts.
Evergreen Road is used by an average of 750 drivers daily.
