Food Vendor Advisory During the April 23rd to April 25th Draft in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH – As Pittsburgh plays host to the 2026 draft taking place from April 23 to April 25, the more than 500,000 expected visitors are sure to enjoy the real MVP, our world-class food and dining options.

All food businesses that have been selected by the NFL should have already reached out to the Allegheny County Health Department’s Food Safety Program for permitting. Any business selected for the draft that has not contacted the food safety program should call the food safety program immediately at 412-578-8044. Vendors selected by the NFL to operate within the official “red zone” event area are not required to obtain a license or permit from the City of Pittsburgh’s Office of Permits Licenses and Inspections.

The Food Safety Program takes the health and well-being of all residents and visitors extremely seriously. Selling food to the public is a regulated activity designed to protect community health and safety. Operating without the necessary permits means bypassing these health and safety checks, which can lead to enforcement actions.

Mobile food trucks permitted through the Allegheny County Health Department are allowed to operate anywhere within the county. Vendors wishing to operate in the City of Pittsburgh during the Draft from April 23-25 should contact the City of Pittsburgh’s Office of Permits Licenses and Inspections who regulate vending and mobile food trucks.

For more information about permitting and safe food handling, visit the Food Safety Program’s website at AlleghenyCounty.us/FoodSafety.
