REMINDER: Lane Closures on Browns Hill Road to Start on Monday
Published on August 15, 2025
PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced that lane closures on Browns Hill Road between Beechwood Boulevard/Hazelwood Avenue and the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh will start at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025. The lane closures are expected to end in December. They are required for extensive concrete roadway and joint repairs, drainage improvements, sidewalk repairs, curb replacement, as well as sign and pavement marking work.
One of the two inbound lanes will periodically close from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and one of the two outbound lanes will periodically close from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.
Weekend work hours might be incorporated into the project at a later date. If that occurs, Public Works will announce it via social media and Allegheny Alerts.
Browns Hill Road is heavily traveled, with more than 40,000 drivers using it daily. The timing of the lane closures is designed to avoid rush hours, but drivers should expect traffic delays in the area and are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their destinations.
A. Folino Construction of Oakmont is the primary construction contractor for the project, which is part of a $6.3 million contract that includes work on 10 other roads.
