Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue Ramp Project in Rankin Completed
Published on August 05, 2025
PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that traffic restrictions at the intersection of Braddock Avenue, Kenmawr Avenue, and Talbot Avenue in Rankin have ended, and the $9.4 million Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp replacement project is now complete.
The project, which began on April 15, 2024, involved replacing the poor-rated Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp, repairing a Rankin Bridge ramp, and reconstructing the Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue/Talbot Avenue intersection. The work included new pavement, sidewalk, curb, drainage, barriers and guide rail, traffic signals, roadway lighting, signs, and pavement markings, including those used for bike lanes.
Mosites Construction Company of Robinson was the primary construction contractor.
With the new Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp open, Public Works plans to keep the adjacent Talbot Avenue ramp closed to prevent further deterioration until it is replaced within the next few years. The ramp, located between Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue and Fleet Street, has been closed since April 7, 2025.
