County Executive Sara Innamorato Announces Fall Event Schedule

Free events happening in all nine County parks
PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County will be hosting a series of festive fall events starting in September in all nine County parks, County Executive Innamorato announced today.
County Executive Innamorato said: “Allegheny County will host a series of free events that are open to the public this fall, and I hope everyone can come out to our beautiful county parks and enjoy the season. The seasonal events include Americana Festival, Hay Day, Halloween Movies in The Park, Punkin Chunkin, Campfire Ghost Stories and Trunk or Treat.”
Sponsored by WYEP FM Neighborhood Concert Series, the Americana Festival will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at Settlers Cabin Park. The event will feature five premier Americana artists blending folk, country, blues and rock that showcases America’s rich and diverse music history. Beverage and food vendors will be onsite.
The bands performing include:
Hay Day is a family-friendly fall festival from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Hartwood Acres Park on Saturday, September 19 and at South Park on Saturday, September 26. There will be a variety of entertainment and activities with something for all ages. Food trucks will be onsite.
Several free activities at the event include but are not limited to:
Halloween Movies in The Park will be debuting a new double feature this year. Bring the whole family for Monster House at 6:30pm or come later at 8:30pm for an extra spooky show featuring The Sixth Sense.

- Friday, October 9, 2026, at Hartwood Acres: Mansion Lawn
- Saturday, October 10, 2026, at White Oak: Chestnut Shelter
- Friday, October 16, 2026, at Round Hill: Visitors Center
- Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Deer Lakes: Carp Field
Punkin Chunkin will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11:00am to 5:00pm at Hartwood Acres Park. Allegheny County partner Sarah Heinz House will build trebuchets that attendees can use to take turns launching pumpkins across a field at the Hartwood Acres Amphitheater. The event will also have food trucks and activities onsite.
Campfire Ghost Stories will feature family friendly ghost stories and songs by the campfire from storytellers Josh and Gab. This event will run from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on four dates in October. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs and to come in costume for a chance to win a prize. ASL Interpretation will be available at all locations.

- Thursday, October 22, 2026, at North Park: Boathouse Lawn
- Friday, October 23, 2026, at Harrison Hills: Yakaon Shelter
- Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Boyce Park: Four Seasons Activity Center
- Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Settlers Cabin: Moccasin Shelter
Trunk or Treat will take place on Saturday, October 24 at the South Park Wave Pool parking lot and on Sunday, October 25 at the Hartwood Acres Amphitheater parking lot from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Participants are encouraged to wear festive costumes and decorate their cars for Halloween.
