County Reminds Voters of February 24 Special Election in 42nd District

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Elections Division is reminding voters in the 42nd Legislative District that a special election will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term of the Honorable Dan Miller.

All registered voters residing in the 42nd Legislative District, regardless of political party affiliation, are eligible to vote in this special election. Voters are encouraged to check their voter registration status and confirm their polling place before Election Day.

The 42nd Legislative District includes:

  • Baldwin Township
  • Castle Shannon
  • Dormont
  • Mt. Lebanon
  • Upper St. Clair (wards 1, 2, 3-3, 4-1)

Voters in the following precincts should take note of a polling place change:

  • Ward 5, District 1
  • Ward 5, District 2
  • Ward 5, District 8

As of February 18, 2026, 6,063 mail-in ballot applications have been processed in the district, and a total of 3,287 ballots have been returned. Voters who requested a mail-in ballot must return it by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24. Any voter in line at 8:00 p.m. will be permitted to vote.
