PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that the Roberto Clemente (Sixth Street) Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh has reopened to traffic. The closure, which began on February 14, 2022, was required for a $ 35.6 million bridge rehabilitation project. Completed work on Roberto Clemente Bridge during the project included:

Crews still need to make repairs to the pylon doors and door frames on the Roberto Clemente, Andy Warhol, and Rachel Carson Bridges. That work is expected to be completed by the spring. The project is being done by Mosites Construction of Robinson. It is funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and Allegheny County. The Roberto Clemente Bridge, which opened in 1928, carries 7,895 vehicles daily across the Allegheny River between the Downtown and North Shore neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.
