PITTSBURGH – All Allegheny County offices, including the independently elected offices, the Courts and County Council, will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Hartwood Acres Mansion also will be closed. All offices and parks facilities will return to regular hours on Monday, July 6, 2026.
All County pools will be open holiday hours from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm on July 4, 11:30 am to 7:00 pm on non-holidays, weather permitting. Season pool passes are not eligible for admission on July 4th. Spray parks and golf courses will be open regular hours.
Allegheny County Parks will also host free events throughout the holiday weekend, including two special celebrations on Sunday, July 5.
At Hartwood Acres, the County’s America’s 250th Anniversary Celebration will feature a patriotic performance by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra followed by a spectacular drone show with more than 200 drones synchronized to music. Gates open at 3:00 pm, with the concert beginning at 8:15 pm. Food trucks and local beverage vendors will be on site. A suggested $30 per vehicle donation will benefit the Allegheny County Music Festival Fund, which supports children and youth receiving services through the Department of Human Services.
Also on July 5, the popular Jazzmania Live summer concert series returns to the South Park Cascades with “Stars, Stripes and Standards,” a free outdoor performance from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of live jazz in one of the County’s most scenic settings.
