Executive Innamorato Announces Agreement to Maintain PRT Bus Service

PITTSBURGH – County Executive Sara Innamorato announced an agreement in principle has been reached to maintain PRT bus service at The Waterfront in Homestead. Last week PRT announced new service routes, which included discontinuing service at stops inside The Waterfront complex at the request of some developers of commercial properties located in The Waterfront. Bus service to The Waterfront is crucial for patrons and employees alike, and County Executive Innamorato and others immediately intervened to find a solution to maintain service.

“I want to thank all the parties involved for their willingness to come to the table. We have an agreement in principle to find a long-term solution to keep PRT service inside The Waterfront, and in the interim there will be continued service to existing stops,” said County Executive Innamorato.

"I'm thankful that we are working towards a resolution to this issue that preserves transit access to The Waterfront stores for employees and shoppers,” said Senator Pisciottano. “Thank you to the County Executive's office for coordinating the conversations that led to this resolution."
