PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that crews working on Browns Hill Road between Beechwood Boulevard/Hazelwood Avenue and the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh will work longer hours starting on Monday, September 22, 2025. Work on the road, which is expected to end in December, includes extensive concrete roadway and joint repairs, drainage improvements, sidewalk repairs, curb replacement, as well as sign and pavement marking work.

The new work hours will require that one of the two inbound lanes will periodically close during all hours except during the morning commute (6 a.m. to 9 a.m.). One of the two outbound lanes will periodically close during all hours except during the afternoon commute (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.).

The project began on August 18, 2025. Since then, one of the two inbound lanes has been periodically closed from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and one of the two outbound lanes has been periodically closed from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

Browns Hill Road is heavily traveled, with more than 40,000 drivers using it daily. Therefore, drivers should continue to expect traffic delays in the area and are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their destinations.

A. Folino Construction of Oakmont is the primary construction contractor for the project, which is part of a $6.3 million contract that includes work on 10 other roads.
