County Council Poised to Vote on Emergency Housing Legislation

On Tuesday, October 20, Allegheny County Council will vote on a critical update to Article VI of the County Public Health Code to improve the County's ability to address the health and safety of tenants in rental housing. This update clarifies and strengthens existing powers for the County to hold negligent landlords accountable when emergency situations require temporary relocation of tenants.

Lanes to Close on Homestead Grays Bridge Thursday Night-Monday Morning

The Department of Public Works announced today that two of the four lanes on the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh and Homestead will be closed from 9 pm on Thursday, October 15 to 6 am on Monday, October 19. The traffic restrictions are necessary as part of an ongoing project to make repairs to the bridges’ spans, piers, and deck.

COURTESY RELEASE: Armstrong Tunnel, Philip Murray Bridge to Close

The Department of Public Works announced today that it has granted a permit to P3R to close the inbound Armstrong Tunnel and the Philip Murray (South Tenth Street) Bridge in Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk. The closure will occur from 7 am to 11 am on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Weekend Lane Closures on Homestead Grays Bridge to Start Tomorrow

The Department of Public Works announced today that there will be single-lane closures on the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh and Homestead from 9 pm on Fridays to 6 am on Mondays from Friday, October 2 to Monday, November 16. The traffic restrictions are necessary for bridge span, pier, and deck repairs.
