Deputy Director
Alan Sisco
Alan Sisco is the Deputy Director of Programs & Strategy for Allegheny County Economic Development, where he helps lead strategic initiatives to drive inclusive growth, revitalize communities, and expand economic opportunity across the region. A Pittsburgh native with more than 20 years of experience in community development, Alan has worked across the nonprofit, intergovernmental, and public sectors to advance equitable housing, land reuse, and neighborhood revitalization.
Before joining Allegheny County, Alan served as Director of Special Projects for Tri-COG Land Bank and the Steel Rivers Council of Governments, where he partnered with municipal leaders throughout the Mon Valley to return vacant and tax-delinquent properties to productive use and support community-driven development. He also served as Interim Executive Director of the City of Bridges Community Land Trust, helping to steward permanently affordable housing and expand community ownership opportunities in Pittsburgh neighborhoods. For more than 12 years, he helped grow Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, delivering critical home repairs for more than 1,000 lower-income homeowners in Allegheny County.
Alan grew up in South Oakland, where he got his start hauling shingles up ladders and pulling carpet staples for his father’s small construction business. In true Pittsburgh fashion, he cares a little bit too much about his time attending the historic Schenley High School. Alan still lives on the same brick street where he was raised - now with his 12-year-old son, Francis. His deep connection to Pittsburgh continues to shape his work and his belief in the power of place-based investment.
He currently serves on the advisory committee for Pittsburgh’s Housing Opportunity Fund and is a trusted collaborator in regional efforts to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
